Elegant Purple and Coral Wedding at Sailfish Marina
As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers, but in Florida showers come during summertime. So when Jessica and Rashard woke up on their June wedding to stormy skies, we were ready with a rain plan to create their Sailfish Marina Wedding. It was filled with crystals, shades of purple and oh-so-much romance! And luckily, the rain stopped just long enough to get some great portraits outside.
The vows took place under a silk draped, domed arch accented with a chandelier in a ballroom overlooking the Intracoastal at Sailfish Marina. Pompadours of coral and purple dripping in crystals flanked either side of arch and were placed along the aisle, which was also lined with coral and purple rose petals. A personalized fan was placed on each chair as a favor for each guest.
A picture of the bride’s father was wrapped into the bridal bouquet, so that she wouldn’t be walking down the aisle alone. The couple’s son severed as ring bearer and processed into the ceremony with a sign reading “Daddy, here comes our girl!” It was incredible to see this family solidify into one unit.
After the ceremony, the guests and couple enjoyed the cocktail hour on the balcony of the ballroom, while we transformed the room from ceremony to reception. Three vases filled with pearls were topped with a pave of lavender hydrangea, Picasso calla lilies and coral roses accented with crystals were created by Orange Blossoms Floral and Event Design. Lace and ribbon covered votives surrounded the arrangements. The lush, rosette table linen added to romance of the tablescape. The elegant menu beautifully topped the glass and gold chargers. The sweetheart table was placed under the wedding arch and topped with a chic, gold-sequin table linen. The bridal bouquet and votives served as the table décor along side a “Mr & Mrs” sign.
The scrumptious dessert display was the biggest hit of the evening. The bride’s family has a tradition of making s’mores at every family gathering, so we included a “make your own” s’mores bar as part of the dessert display. The Sugar Monkey created a sophisticated white on white lace accented wedding cake and chocolate covered strawberries to complement the s’mores bar. No guest was left wanting! It was a truly amazing day all captured by Robert Madrid Photography and Indie Atlantic Films.
